Award-winning chef Telma Shiraishi, from the Japanese restaurant Aizomê, runs a new cafe on the ground floor of Japan House, a cultural space on Avenida Paulista.
Light, sugar-free desserts are the highlight of the menu. One tip is the Floresta Verde, a matcha cake filled with white chocolate ganache and cranberries with umeshu liqueur, a Japanese plum, for R$27.
For savory, try the mini mochese, cheese bread made with Serra da Canastra cheese, tapioca starch and moti, glutinous rice cakes (R$ 15 for a portion of 12).
To drink, there are coffees prepared with special beans from the Baú farm in Minas Gerais, in methods such as espresso (R$ 10), infusions and teas, such as genmaicha, green, with rice popcorn (R$ 16).
On the second floor of Japan House is the Aizomê restaurant, which is open during lunch with a setto menu, consisting of a variety of dishes, sushi, sashimi and hot dishes.
