I know that my case of being accepted so quickly is rare.” “I would love to bury this story and pretend it never happened, but it doesn’t match what I preach”, said Jade, who then described what happened. “On the last 10th, I was returning by bus to São Paulo after going to visit my boyfriend in Rio. A gentleman, old enough to be my father and maybe even grandfather, verbally and sexually harassed me, on a trip that had already lasted 12 hours and we were all exhausted.” On video, Jade explained that the trip, which usually takes 6 hours, ended up taking more than twice as long because of the landslide that happened in Serra de Araras. In the video, she also reported: “A man of 55, 60 years old, noticed that I was alone in the chair, asked if there was someone by my side and I promptly said no. So he sat next to me”. “The man said horrible things to me. Among them, that I looked like a baby, that he liked that. This man groped me, touched me. I closed my eyes, I had already placed a backpack on my lap, afraid that he would touch me again, as an attempt to protect me”, said Jade, not holding back her tears. “And I woke up promptly with the individual trying to kiss me by force. I was startled and in shock. But I was so coerced, I was glad there were people around to help me.” In the video, Jade even shared images of the police waiting for the bus at the bus station after some passengers reported what had happened. “They called the police for me and when we arrived at the bus station, the police were ready to take you away. The man was arrested. It’s important to say that,” he said. “The man even threatened to sue me for slander and defamation, he said horrible things, that I was a young gold digger, that I was after his money.” Jade said she is waiting to see what will happen and, in text, thanked the passengers who helped her and stayed with her for three hours at the police station. “I was welcomed by the passengers, by the police and by the company, but I keep asking myself what I could have done to avoid, feeling helpless.
