The taxpayer who declares the Income Tax and is entitled to the refund is in the expectation as to which batch of payments will receive the money. The IR refund is paid in five batches, from May to September. The first of them will be released on May 31, the final date for delivering this year’s declaration.

The day on which the taxpayer will receive depends on some factors, according to the Federal Revenue and specialists consulted by Sheet. Taxpayers who have legal priority receive this batch, in the following order:

• Seniors aged 80 and over

• Seniors between 60 and 79 years old

• People with a disability or serious illness

• Taxpayers whose teaching is the biggest source of income

• Taxpayers who used the pre-filled statement or chose to receive the Pix refund

This payment order is the same to be followed by the Federal Revenue in the other batches. Those who do not enter the priority list go to the end of the queue, which means that they can receive the amounts in the last batches.

However, there are no losses for the citizen. The payment is corrected by the basic interest rate, the Selic. Also going to the end of the queue is the taxpayer who, when sending the declaration, notices an error or failure, falls into the fine mesh and needs to rectify it.

Those who do not rectify or are unable to leave the grid in the fiscal year will not receive any of the lots. In this case, the citizen will have to wait for the residual lots that will be paid in the next year.

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUND?

The Income Tax refund is the return of the amount of tax paid in excess by the taxpayer during the calendar year, which in this case is the year 2022.
