Investors bet on the hemp market in the country – 03/29/2023 – Cannabis Inc.

The cultivation of cannabis it is illegal, even if it is hemp, a species with only 0.3% THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol, a psychoactive product, which gives you a high). Just to explain it better, this amount is too low for the plant to be suitable for adult consumption, which does not disqualify it as an excellent source of medicinal oils.

Therefore, hemp has increasingly emerged as a viable and safe alternative for the introduction of a new agricultural crop, which can bring environmental and social improvements. A market with the potential to reach US$ 126 billion worldwide by 2026, according to Prohibition Partners. Here, it already attracts investors.

This week, the Sinapse Social group, a legal and strategic business consultancy, and Kanna, a pioneering company that brought hemp to the blockchain market, announced a partnership. Sinapse is known for its team and specialists, including lawyer Emílio Figueiredo, who works with law in the area of cannabis for over 10 years.

Kanna, on the other hand, sells KNN tokens, a kind of cryptocurrency equivalent to fractions of land planted with hemp, which is reversed in carbon credits. The plant is among those with the greatest capacity to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and also stands out for its efficiency in correcting the soil for agriculture. KNN was launched at the beginning of the year.

Companies invest in a pioneer market, which is waiting for regularization in Brazil. “The arrival of new partners is extremely important not only for our operations, but also for the entire Cannabis ecosystem in the country, through a new argument for legalization based on positive impact”, says Luis Quintanilha, CEO of Kanna.

This is an argument that goes beyond medicine. The flower gives rise to CBD oil (cannabidiol, a therapeutic substance with no psychoactive effect), which is indicated in the treatment of diseases such as depression and chronic pain. But the plant is 100% usable. The stem fibers turn into clothes, bricks and even green plastic. “We believe that the partnership with Kanna can enhance the development of the ecosystem”, says the lawyer and partner of Sinapse Emílio Figueiredo. “Our knowledge added to the transparency and traceability of the blockchain seems a beautiful combination to make the cannabis to grow.”
