In June, the states also unanimously decided to adopt a 17% Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) rate for purchases made on online platforms from international retailers. At the beginning of this month, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dario Durigan, informed that the federal government is still considering establishing an import tax starting at a level of 20%, in the process of regularizing orders coming from abroad.
