The vice president represented Lula at an event promoted by the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) in Brasília. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin defended this Tuesday (28) tax reform, universal access to day care centers and vaccination of children. Alckmin participated in an event for mayors in Brasilia promoted by the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM). In a speech, the vice president said that the objective of the tax system reform, listed as one of the government’s priorities, is to promote what he called “tax justice”, in addition to simplifying tax collection. “Our model is very unfair. Everything here is about consumption, 50% of the product is consumption tax. This is a reform that brings economic efficiency. Our model is unfair,” said Alckmin at the March of Mayors in Brasilia this year. About day care centers, Alckmin pointed out that around 350,000 children, between 4 and 5 years old, still do not have access to this type of school and that it is necessary to “zero the queue”. He also said that the federal government readjusted the value of school lunches, which had been frozen for five years. About vaccination, Alckmin told the mayors that it is necessary to vaccinate all girls and boys against HPV. The goal is to reduce cases of cervical cancer and other diseases. The vice-president also spoke about Bolsa Família and emphasized that the government included in the program an additional R$ 150 for each child up to 6 years old in the beneficiary families.
