‘I’m learning to cope, I’m in therapy’

Letícia Salles was shocked by the turn her life took when she started playing Filó, in the first phase of “Pantanal”. Her character, who had a discreet routine like hers, made in just 15 days the 28-year-old former model, born and raised in Parque União, in the North Zone of Rio, become a well-known face to the public. After her successful debut, she quickly returned to the small screen as the antagonist Érika, from “Vai na fé”, a soap opera that has been conquering viewers.

— Érika is very different from Filo, and I’m happy as hell. I didn’t expect that the repercussion of my debut would be so big. Really, I was scared by the “boom”, because I am a calm person, in my own way. I wasn’t used to this exposure. I was a little scared, but over time I’m learning to deal with these issues. I do therapy, I think it’s important, even more so in this profession – says the actress.

If in the remake the pantaneira was a kind mother to little Tadeu, a character played by José Loreto in the second phase of the nine o’clock soap opera, now the actress plays a dancer and backing vocalist who ruins the life of Lui Lorenzo, role of the same actor in the current plot of seven.

— José Loreto keeps calling me mother, it’s very funny (laughs). We bump into each other very little in “Pantanal”, but we get along very well — she says, detailing the relationship between the two characters this time: — Érika is crazy about Lui Lorenzo. So obsessed that it becomes a toxic relationship for both of them. She does everything to get along, likes to put you down to feel superior.

This week, Érika returns to dance with Lui after Sol (Sheron Menezzes) refuses to go on tour with him. However, the villain will not leave work with Anthony Verão (Orlando Caldeira) aside and will continue to make the singer’s life hell by producing gossip.

“There’s still a lot to happen. Now, Érika returns to take her place. Sol, poor thing, it’s not even her fault, but Érika is coming back to dominate the piece. And she won’t want to go out anymore. She suffers from “sincericide”. She says what a lot of people don’t have the courage to say. So maybe some can identify with her – justifies the actress, who classifies the character as determined: – She wants to be the protagonist of her story. Her determination is admirable, although that’s not the focus. You can’t get past her, no.

In addition to taking care of her mental and physical health, focused on exercise, the carioca had to start taking singing and dancing classes because of her new role. Letícia has already said that she thought she was great at uncompromised dancing before, but in terms of singing, only in the shower:

“Dancing is too good. If I had known it was so good, I would have started earlier… Dance awakened in me a lot of things I didn’t know about myself, it activated sensuality, self-esteem. Everything Erika wants to convey. I already had a very active life in sports because I ran and trained. But I don’t sing anything. I wish I was born with a wonderful voice, but I only sing in the shower. But I become a singer too, no problem!
