Ile de France celebrates 70 years with tastings of selected drinks

To celebrate 70 years of history in Curitiba, the Ile de France restaurant promotes a special week of wine and whiskey tastings, between February 6th and 10th.
“We want many people to come and toast Ile’s birthday and nothing better than good food and good drink to celebrate”, says partner Marcia Oliveira.

Monday (06) – 19h
Specialist in French wines, French-Brazilian Jean Claude Cara arrives straight from France to talk about “Guard Wines and their characteristics”. The tasting includes the labels: Dame Claudette Marie Brut Méthode Traditionnelle, Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits 2004 Blanc, Éléphant Rouge 2018 and Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits 2001.
The cost is R$290 per person, including the lecture, tasting and canapés.
Tuesday (07) – 19h
Oenophile Guilherme Rodrigues leads the conversation about the renowned Louis Latour wines. All grapes from Domaine Louis Latour’s own vineyards are vinified in the historic cuverie built in 1834, the first planned cellar built in France and the oldest still in operation.
Selected labels: L. Latour Marsannay Pinot Noir, L. Latour Valmoissine Pinot Noir, L. Latour Brouilly, L. Latour Chablis and L. Latour Pouilly Fuisse.
Tasting is free.
Wednesday (08) – 7pm
Luiz Roberto Ratto, self-taught and passionate about the world of whiskey, shares curiosities, stories, details and legends of a classic drink that has always been very present in the history of the Ile de France.
Selected labels and respective regions: Ardberg (Islay) – 10 years; Talisker (Island) – 10 years; Glenlivet (Speyside) – 12 years old; Glenmorangie (Highland) – 12 years; Glenkinchie (Low Land) – 12 years old.
Thursday (09) -19h
The owner of the Villaggio Bassetti winery, José Eduardo Bassetti, talks with customers about “The Terroir of Altitude and its characteristics”. On the occasion, participants will be invited to taste five labels for free: Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah GIO, Ana Cristina Pinot Noir, Merlot DIO and Primiero.
Friday (10) – 7pm
The owner of Vinícola Legado, Heloíse Merolli talks about the enchantment of sparkling wine production. Legado is a boutique winery that produces fine and sparkling wines that are awarded and of high quality in their terroir, growing wine grapes at an altitude of 1,040 m, just 27 km from Curitiba.
Four labels will be tasted: Surlies, Flair Brut Rosé, Flair Brut Branco and Cuvée Leticia. The tasting is free and will be paired with national cheeses.
