‘I wanted to be as comfortable as possible’

Actress Giovanna Lancelotti arrived at Nosso Camarote hours before parading in the opening wing of Beija-Flor de Nilópolis, early this Tuesday of Carnival at Marquês de Sapucaí. It will be the first time that the actress will appear as a highlight of an association. She told how the preparation for the parade was and confessed to being looking forward to the big moment:

“I’m shaking. I slept a lot that night and made up my mind that everything I could I did,” she said.

Giovanna took classes to better prepare herself for the fashion show and said that the main issue for her is to feel comfortable on the Avenue.

“I wanted to be as close to that universe as possible. The classes were ideal for letting me go, not only for what I’m going to do today, but for me to be more comfortable. The responsibility is huge and it is an honor. I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes.”

Giovanna also said that parading in Sapucaí, for her, is a family matter. That’s because the actress’s mother-in-law has been parading for Beija-Flor for 30 years.

“Today, for me, Avenida is a family place. My mother-in-law didn’t want to go out on the wing this time. And my sister-in-law is at college in New York, she couldn’t make it to rehearsals. So they told me, ‘This year is going to be about you’. And I thought, ‘My God, what a responsibility,'” she said.
