The 73-year-old presenter made an appeal about organ donation and praises SUS and cites misinformation about how priority was given in the transplant queue.
“I feel like my heart is beating even faster, it’s a unique feeling. They had to take a lot of rubble out of me, and put a new heart, a 35 year old boy. It’s something that makes me feel very alive (…) My first thought was: I need to motivate organ donation. Brazil has to be the first place in the world. There must be more projects. We need to do something to improve this, and think about the next ones”. Fausto Silva also praised the SUS and spoke about the importance of the system: “Yesterday it seemed like I was having a normal day in my life. I sat, walked, talked. It’s absurd to be able to do all that. I just have to thank my doctors and SUS. All this is also thanks to the SUS”.
