‘I don’t want to disqualify the children’s mother’

Pedro Scooby had the first hearing against his ex-wife, Luana Piovani, mother of his three children. The surfer explained to journalist Leo Dias that the hearing, held last Monday, 30th, in Portugal, was to deal with the action of a personality guardianship request so that Luana is prohibited from using her name.

Unlike what happens in Brazil, in Portugal you cannot ask for an injunction so that a person is prohibited from quoting someone. To the journalist, Scooby also clarified about the “nude photos” that Luana said are attached to the document.

“At no time did I send a photo of her to the lawyer and at no time during the process was there a naked photo attached, that does not exist. What you have attached is a part of the process, a print of her profile, with all her photos. Photo of life, with the children, several photos. (…) This is to show a part that she judged, used to attack me in two moments: one with Anitta and Vanessa Lopes, it was just to show that, that she used these people to attack me ”, he explained.

He claims he tried to get in touch with Luana, willing to talk. But, according to the surfer, the actress just replied: “Go there and cancel that process I think about talking to you”.

Scooby reports that Piovani and his lawyer did not attend the hearing and says he made his motivations clear to the judge in the case. “It was the first thing I said: ‘At no time am I here to disqualify the children’s mother as a mother or as a woman. I don’t want that, I’m here to show the lies that have been spoken and the defamation that has been laid out’.”

Last week, Scooby’s defense claimed in a note that Piovani failed to comply with a court decision and denies that the lawsuit against her is filed outside Brazil, as she stated:

“The legal advice of the athlete Pedro Scooby clarifies that he appealed to the Brazilian courts so that the privacy of the children is preserved, avoiding the international exposure of minors and jeopardizing the best interests of the child and adolescent”.

“Recognizing the risk to minors of overexposure, the Brazilian Judiciary issued a decision, on 01.18. of the author and/or the name of the author correlated to the name of the children in common’, and the conflict must be resolved within the family”, continued the athlete’s defense.

The note follows: “Failure to comply with the judicial decision implies, in addition to a fine, disrespect for the Brazilian Judiciary as an institution of the democratic rule of law and ignores the harmful effects of overexposure of minors.”

Then, Scooby’s defense denies that he will trigger Portugal’s justice, as Piovani said: “It is not true, therefore, that Pedro Scooby will not resort to Brazilian justice and legal mechanisms to protect the private life of his children , ensuring their well-being and dignity”.

“Dialogue, the spirit of cooperation and a sense of responsibility with exposure on the internet are essential tools to settle the conflict, preferably in a friendly way, preserving the intimacy and privacy of minors”, he concludes.

Before that, Luana Piovani vented on social networks when she found out that she is being sued by her ex-husband. The hearing is scheduled in Portugal, and the reason would be for the exposure that the actress made after accusing the surfer of not paying alimony. But what shocked Piovani the most was seeing nude photos of her in the process.

“I took the file and went to read it. He discredits me and disqualifies me as a woman and mother. Then I saw naked photos of me in the middle of the process. I was intrigued, I didn’t understand what my nude photos had to do with the fact that he wanted to shut me up. He must be thinking about Father’s Day to earn some money. I went to talk to my lawyer and she said: ‘Luana, what is in the process is nothing more than the beginning of another process that he will probably open, which is wanting to take custody of the children'”, said Luana, indignant.
