‘I already had the will and I didn’t do it out of fear’

Sheron Menezzes lives new experiences like Sol from “Vai na fé”. In addition to being her first protagonist, the character also asks the actress to dance and sing. Despite loving doing this off camera, the artist says that she had to overcome the shame of showing this side of herself to the public:
— Dancing and singing are things I love to do, but I die of shame. I love that off camera. I understand that I can do it. Each scene is to go over something that I already wanted and didn’t do out of fear, now I have to do it for work.
But the experience, guarantees Sheron, has been good:
— The preparation was delicious. I came from another job where, coincidentally, I also had to sing and dance (in the Netflix series “Maldivas”, she played a former axé singer and businesswoman). It’s been really nice.
Last Tuesday, the 17th, Sol was successful on stage after accepting an invitation from Vitinho (Luis Lobianco) to perform as a dancer and backing vocals for Lui Lorenzo (José Loreto). Still in this first week of the soap opera, the character of Sheron will accept the job as a dancer.
The telenovela written by Rosane Svartman, with artistic direction by Paulo Silvestrini, already at its premiere showed that Sol is the type that doesn’t take shit home. She sells takeaways alongside her friend Bruna (Carla Cristina Cardoso) through the streets of Rio de Janeiro. And she doesn’t let it go when she hears a joke from some joker. To attract his customers, Sol sings parodies of funk classics.
— It’s very nice to see Sol as a woman who has her problems, but gets up with a smile on her face, works, helps her mother, takes the bus, puts on a show… She does everything like many women do in their daily lives. It’s important for people to turn on the television and identify themselves in a positive light. And when I speak of so many of us, I am speaking, mainly, of black women and families – celebrates the actress.
