Among Brazilians aged 16 to 64 with internet access, 93.4% use WhatsApp, according to a survey by We Are Social. The messaging app is for intimate conversations and work, with the advancement of remote work and digital marketing. People say they have difficulties separating their personal and professional lives on their cell phones.
Disabling the option to show when you are online in WhatsApp can help with privacy. This sign can motivate demands for answers or indicate disinterest. See how to use WhatsApp without letting your contacts know.
Access the WhatsApp application on your smartphone. In the upper right corner, next to the search magnifying glass, there is a button in the form of an ellipsis, with more options. Click on it.
Then select the application settings, the last item in the list.
Then choose the “Privacy” item, indicated by a padlock.
In the “Who can see my personal data” section, select “last seen and online”.
Under “last seen”, check “nobody”. You can also select “my contacts except” and add the contacts you want to exclude from visibility.
Under “Who can see when I’m online,” select “Even if last seen.”
This way, your contacts stop receiving the notification that you are online when they click on your profile.
