Brasilia – Honda is present at the second edition of the 2023 Manaus Industrial Pole Sustainability Fair (FeSPIM), which takes place between the 7th and 9th of November, at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, in Brasília, in the Federal District.

The event, organized by the Superintendency of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa) and the Piatam Institute, is attended by several companies located in the PIM and highlights the importance of the region as an important vector of sustainable development, promoting the conservation of the Amazon Forest, the starting from the generation of employment, income and the use of sustainable production practices.

With a focus on sustainability and technology, the event also highlights the relevance of the Industrial Pole for the entire country, promoting economic development through the conscious use of natural resources.

At the stand, Honda will exhibit some of its main motorcycles produced at PIM. The brand will explore its relevance in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, as one of the largest companies, contributing to the country’s development through the jobs generated; investments; technological development and, mainly, for the value and wealth that its product generates for individuals, families and entrepreneurs.

“The sustainability of operations is a fundamental value for the brand, especially in Manaus, a city where we have been for almost 50 years, generating value and wealth in full harmony with the preservation of this environmental asset that is so important to society, the Amazon. Being in the Manaus Free Zone is a source of pride for Honda, both for its contribution to the development of the region and for the thousands of jobs throughout the production chain in the motorcycle segment”,

says Marcos Bento, Executive Director of Institutional Relations at Honda.

Honda in the Manaus Free Trade Zone

The Moto Honda da Amazônia operation has been installed in PIM since 1976, when the company began national production of motorcycles. The company brought all of the brand’s global manufacturing knowledge, product quality and business vision to the city of Manaus, in addition to starting an extensive local development program.

In addition to the construction of the factory and the manufacturing activity itself, Honda promoted the training of professionals, joint improvement of the supply chain and the implementation of projects for environmental preservation, contributing to the socioeconomic increase of the entire region.

With almost 50 years of existence, Moto Honda da Amazônia is today an industrial complex that goes far beyond the assembly of motorcycles and is the most vertically integrated unit in the production of Honda motorcycles in the world, that is, they are manufactured from metal packaging, molds , tools, even various components that make up the product such as exhaust pipes, wheels, handlebars, chassis and other parts.

In addition to being one of the largest in PIM, the unit is Honda’s largest manufacturing operation outside of Asia, which reinforces the unit and the Free Zone as one of the most representative production centers in the world. Moto Honda exports to more than 15 countries, such as the United States, Canada, Australia and others, reinforcing how well the national operation integrates with demanding global markets.

With the premise of developing mobility solutions that meet the expectations of the most varied customer profiles, Moto Honda has the largest line of motorcycles on the market and manufactures models ranging from 110cc to 1,100cc.

Throughout its history, the company has strengthened its production chain, invested in the development of advanced technologies and created thousands of jobs in full harmony with environmental preservation. All of this is due to strategic sustainability management, based on four priority commitments, which permeate all the company’s decision-making processes and operations: Environment, Safety, Quality and People.

Honda continually develops improvement projects at its production units and operates on different fronts, ranging from waste management and energy efficiency, respect for biodiversity, to the rational use of water and reduction of atmospheric emissions.
