Holiday Festival takes children to discover the Historic Center and promotes environmental education

Manaus (AM) – Fun and adventure marked the program this Wednesday (12/07) of the Government of Amazonas Holiday Festival. With a very special itinerary, the little ones who are in school recess, took advantage of the tour through the Historic Center, in addition to exploring Bosque da Ciência, at INPA, and getting to know the Fonte do Saber Station, located at the headquarters of Águas de Manaus, Alexis.
With the aim of bringing art closer to the process of cultural education for children and the population in general, more than 500 people have already participated in the festival, which is now in its 6th edition. According to the artistic coordinator of the Art and Education Center of the Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy, Baldoino Leite, activities in cultural spaces encourage imagination and highlight the cultural heritage of the city.
“This circuit through the historic center is important for the preservation of memory, being fundamental for the new generation. In addition, the Holiday Festival highlights the issue of sustainability and environmental knowledge, which is why we highlight the visit to Bosque da Ciência and the Fonte do Saber Station”,

For little Lucas, 9 years old, the experience was incredible. Participating for the first time, he was delighted to see the historic buildings in the city center and the educational spaces. “Wow, at Fonte do Saber you could light things with water and make a cyclone. I saw the animals and nature at INPA. It was really cool, my family and I loved it.”

Soldier Neiba Freitas, mother of Lucas, highlighted the action during the vacation period and the importance of the activities. “It’s a form of entertainment and learning for children, in addition to getting to know more about our city’s culture. The initiative is especially important for those who do not have access to this type of tour”,
says Neiba.
The project is part of the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy holiday calendar, bringing a great program, including musical concerts with local artists, theatrical presentations, visits to cultural spaces, rescue of popular games, interactive workshops and others. The spaces offer activities aimed at children from 3 to 12 years old, accompanied by parents or guardians. Registration to participate in the programs takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays, at the AM Culture Portal (cultura.am.gov.br).
