Suffice it to say that the year marked the premieres of the first albums by Francis Hime, Luiz Melodia (1951 – 2017), João Bosco, Raimundo Fagner, Raul Seixas (1945 – 1989), Sérgio Sampaio (1947 – 1974), Secos & Molhados and Walter Franco (1945 – 2019), among other names, in addition to releasing defining albums by artists such as Beth Carvalho (1946 – 1919) and João Donato (1934 – 2023). Faced with the size of Brazilian phonographic production in that year of 1973, Sesc 24 de Maio, in the city of São Paulo (SP), scheduled the cycle of shows 73/23 – Half a century of historic records for this second half of 2023. From August to December 17, artists from different styles and generations will address the repertoires of seven emblematic 1973 albums.
