However, the phrase disappeared from the subject lists at the time, ceasing to be visible, which contradicts the information of three trend monitoring services on the networks, which show the subject “Twitter supports massacres” at the top of the platform’s trending topics in Brazil .

Users who raised the phrase with strong criticism of Musk accuse the company of censorship.

Sought by the report, the platform did not respond to questions and sent an emoji of feces, a practice instituted by the company since March 19.

According to Trends24, the phrase “TWITTER SUPPORTS MASSACRES” had more than 11,000 publications and was first in the ranking at least until 2:12 pm.

On the Twitter Trends – Brazil monitor, the phrase also appears in first place, with just over 12,000 mentions. The list is updated every 30 minutes, according to the website.

The getdaytrend website is one more that presents the phrase in first place in the most mentioned of the social network in Brazil.

In the Twitter listing itself, the subject does not exist. The two most commented terms according to the official list of the platform, however, are consistent with what the independent monitors present. They are: “TheMarvels” and “Bayern”.

The disappearance was noted by users who raised the protest phrase against the platform this Tuesday, including influencer Felipe Neto.

“Elon Musk said he would buy Twitter to give 100% free speech. Except when [a liberdade] affects or harms his business. He censored the tag “Twitter supports massacres”, but refuses to delete accounts that actually support and encourage massacres in schools”, he accused.

The wave of criticism of Twitter began after the company refused to remove content that advocates violence in schools on the grounds that the term of use of the platform allows the dissemination of material.

Over the weekend alone, 511 profiles were identified on Twitter that advocate acts of violence and threats against schools. Twitter, however, had only deleted accounts that had made concrete threats of attack.
