The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services has proposed an 8% readjustment to all employees of the federal Executive as of March this year. The linear readjustment for the category was discussed this Thursday (16) during a meeting of the National Permanent Negotiation Board (MNNP). The proposal is contained in a document sent to union representatives.

The government also offered a 43.6% increase in food allowance for public servants, which represents around R$ 200. The Secretary for Personnel Management and Labor Relations at the Ministry of Management, Sérgio Mendonça, emphasized that the proposals space of R$ 11.2 billion for readjustments and benefits for civil servants foreseen in this year’s Budget.

“In addition to the salary adjustment, which is in the interest of all civil servants, the government’s proposal also focuses on food allowance due to the characteristics of this benefit, its lag and freezing since 2016, and the positive impact, especially for federal civil servants, with salaries lower,” said Mendonça, in a note released by the ministry. The government hopes to hold the second MNNP meeting in February, when the representative entities will be able to accept the offer or present a counterproposal.
