The federal government relaunches, this Tuesday (14), the Minha Casa Minha Vida program with the intention of delivering 170,000 units of popular housing by the end of the year.
A ceremony in the city of Santo Amaro da Purificação (BA) will present the new goals of the assistance policy and rules for the population’s access to range 1 of values, which currently comprises families with monthly income of up to R$ 1,800.
On the occasion of the launch, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will sign a service order to resume work on 5,000 units in various regions of the country, according to Minister Rui Costa, of the Civil House. The new goal of the program was anticipated by him in a visit to the Bahian city this weekend.
Costa visited the works of a condominium that, he says, were delivered six years ago and were abandoned without use. There are 684 units that needed to be renovated, such as external painting, roof overhaul, plant pruning, cleaning of external areas and asphalt paving.
“When I was here in January, I saw this condominium that had been completed six years ago, started during the Dilma government, and which was left aside. They even removed the security from the place and then they stole a light board, a toilet, among other things”, said the minister accompanied by Governor Rui Costa and Mayor Alessandra Gomes.
New construction management model
According to minister Rui Costa, works on the condominium in Santo Amaro da Purificação were resumed in partnership with the government of Bahia, in a new policy that will be implemented for the next deliveries.
“We are discussing a legal solution so that states and municipalities, which are faster in carrying out these repair services, carry out these services. We want, by the end of the year, to deliver these 170,000 units that I mentioned”, he concluded in reference to works with more than 90% completion.
