Government inaugurates flex-license in foreign trade – 08/01/2023 – Panel SA

Brazil’s foreign trade gains more agility as of this Tuesday (1) with the beginning of the validity of the so-called flex-licenses of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (Mdic).
Now, companies will only need a single document to carry out multiple operations, both in exports and imports. It is even possible to obtain an import license after the products are shipped abroad.
According to the folder, with the single license there will be faster handling of loads. That’s because, before, the trader needed to go through hundreds of counters to issue documents linked to that specific load. For others, it was necessary to repeat the procedure again.
Companies that import products three times a week, for example, issue up to 144 documents a year at a cost of R$53 each.
In bodies such as Inmetro, each documentation is released in 15, but in other bodies, the delay exceeds 35 days.
The delivery of forms and documents can be done electronically through the commerce website. For exporters, the tool will be available in September. Importers will only be able to use it in March 2024.
The Ministry’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) will be responsible for receiving and investigating reports of fraud or irregularities.
