Government evaluates end of toll plazas – 04/30/2023 – Panel SA

The Ministry of Transport is evaluating, in the next concessions, making free flow on highways mandatory.

This system is one that dispenses tolls. By means of tags installed in cars, such as Sem Parar or Conect Car, the charge is made later on the user’s invoice.

Initial tests were carried out by ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) on BR-101, Rio-Santos.

In view of the positive results, free flow should become mandatory after auctions for lots on Paraná’s highways.

Research by Sem Parar showed that, little by little, this system becomes known to users. In the survey, 68% of drivers in São Paulo had never heard of this system. In December, this index was 90%. Only 5% have already used the new toll collection method.
