The objective of the partnership is to integrate the region’s innovation ecosystem by fostering economic development
Manaus (AM) – The Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti) met, on Wednesday (03), with representatives of the Amazon Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (Rami) to discuss the implementation of development projects in the capital and in the interior of the State.
The Executive Secretary for Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti), Jeibi Medeiros, highlighted the importance of the work of the Government of Amazonas, more intense within the region’s innovation ecosystem, following what was determined by Governor Wilson Lima, which is the work to strengthen the economy in Manaus and inland, using traditional knowledge for the benefit of the population.
“It is important for us to get closer to them and draw from this knowledge so that we can walk together”, said Jeibi. The secretary also highlighted the need for focus and joint action to meet demands and develop sustainable projects in partnership.
The non-profit organization has been operating for over 15 years in the Amazon region, in partnership with universities and Sebrae Amazonas. The objective of the meeting was to establish partnerships between the public and private sectors, the third sector and local communities to promote sustainable development based on the bioeconomy matrix.
The president of Rami, Jorge Garcia, commented that the joint work with Sedecti representing the Government is fundamental, since the secretariat acts in a transversal way and the State is a strategic actor that can capitalize on the technical, economic and financial resources so that the actions happen. In addition, he pointed out that initiatives built collectively, with shared knowledge, have a greater chance of success.
“This initiative aims to build more consistent and balanced actions to fairly distribute resources in partnership with local communities, whether they are traditional or with knowledge that can be transformed into projects that promote sustainable and inclusive development,” said Jorge Garcia.
