The Brazilian government announced this Friday (14) the signing of 20 commercial agreements between companies from Brazil and China, mainly in the energy, infrastructure and agribusiness sectors, during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s trip to the Asian country.
Three of the agreements involve companies from the JBS group, one of the largest food companies in the world. The Seara brand agreed to purchase 280 electric trucks from JAC Motors, which will be used in the local distribution of products in Brazil
Friboi signed an agreement to use WHG’s product distribution structure in China. JBS itself signed a partnership with the Bank of China for export credit, with a term of up to four years.
In the energy sector, Eletrobras and State Grid entered into a partnership for a project to revitalize the transmission system of the Itaipu hydroelectric plant.
SPIC, a Chinese giant with a strong presence in renewable energy, signed a memorandum with Prumo Logística to assess the financial and technical viability of renewable energy projects (offshore wind, solar, “blue” hydrogen from natural gas; and “green”, from a renewable source) at Porto do Açu (RJ).
SPIC also closed an agreement with the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) to study the construction and operation of renewable energy systems to serve isolated communities in the Amazon rainforest, involving small solar plants, mini wind turbines, batteries and water purifiers.
In infrastructure, Odebrecht, Power China and Sete Partners signed a partnership to bring joint solutions to projects in the area in Brazil.
Sete Partners also signed agreements with Sinomec, in renewable energy, agriculture and other sectors, and with Tianjing Food Group, for the creation of a binational company for investments in the Brazilian agricultural chain in several areas, including logistics.
Another highlight is the agreements with the Brazilian BMV Global for the sale of biodiversity credits to the Chinese companies HRH (Chongqing) and HRH Pharmaceutical.
The list released this Friday also includes agreements between Vale and Suzano that had been announced at the end of March, when Lula had to reschedule his trip to China.
