Gloria Maria revealed crush on Obama and ‘shocked’ by saying that she dated five at the same time

Gloria Maria, who died this Thursday, 2, in Rio, revealed, in an interview in December 2021, that she had a crush on former US president Barack Obama.

“This is really the crush of my life. The only thing I wanted to have before I die is a whole day with Obama (laughs)”, she said, during a live with her friend Narcisa Tamborindeguy.

During the chat, Gloria claims that she suffered various types of prejudice for being black and a woman, and recalled a statement she had recently given to a podcast, when she said that she had dated five at the same time.

“I suffered and suffer all kinds of prejudice, but I don’t care, because I’m free. I said on a podcast that I dated five at the same time, and everyone was shocked. But that’s the truth. But it was a time when there was no internet or social media, so we lived and weren’t worried about other people’s lives. I don’t care, I live, I’m free. If I get worried about this at this point in my life, I’ll go crazy”.

Gloria also recalled the treatment she faced to cure a brain tumor, diagnosed in 2019, and reveals that she gained 14kg during the recovery period, but managed to lose 16kg after treatment.

The presenter and journalist also said that she was thinking of writing a book narrating this period she faced.

“Perhaps I’ll write a book telling my experience of the last two years, because I’m living the art of living fear without being afraid. Every day, for me, is a moment of fear of my recovery. The experience I’m living in these last two years, which is an experience of fear, a constant fright, because a brain tumor is something that frightens. With each examination, with each test you do, you are afraid of a fragment coming back. It’s as if If you were living on a gallows the whole time. And if you’re afraid, you don’t live. So, I’ve been learning this art of living without being afraid of fear. And this is a daily exercise”, he said.
