The Obst restaurant. now it’s ObST. and there is a new chef at the helm: Bruno Guarnido, who came from Rio de Janeiro, where he previously ran the day-to-day running of the kitchen at ORO (star chef Felipe Bronze’s home). Three months ago in Curitiba, Bruno presented his creations for the restaurant in October. Creative snacks and sharing dishes are on the menu. In preparing the menu and designing ObST.’s new concept, the chef relied heavily on the collaboration of João Bauab, a chef who had already been in charge of the restaurant’s kitchen since leaving K.Sa at the beginning of the year. Bauab, in fact, is being recruited to take over the kitchen at Ninna Cozinha, another restaurant from the OBST Group, which has a more affectionate style of food, comfort food and everything to do with its production style.

Bavaria now open for lunch

There is always a first time. It was already like this when Cantina Baviera turned 50 years old, in 2022, and then, under new management, it announced some new dishes, which refreshed the original menu from so many decades ago. Well, now there’s more news out there. Márcio Borges, entrepreneur who took over running the restaurant last year, brought a business vision and, now, Baviera, located in the Historic Center of Curitiba, will open for lunch, with lots of new features. In addition to the usual menu – with last year’s new additions included –, Baviera now offers an executive menu during lunch, from Monday to Friday (except holidays), with an option served in three portions. The menu will change every 15 days. The three-course menu will have the option of pairing made by the respected sommelier Arlei Kulik. For 13 years, he was the sommelier responsible for wines at Durski Restaurant and has just opened his own establishment, Cave Vinhos.

A bistro in Bourbon

With a focus on serving the external public, but also aimed at “business guests”, Bourbon Bistrot appears. The restaurant located in the Hotel Bourbon, in the center of Curitiba, has chef Eduardo Richard (owner of Lemí Bar) in charge of the kitchen and a menu entirely built on the foundations of traditional French cuisine.

The restaurant features main dishes, quick starters, sandwiches, snacks and traditional and signature drinks – a menu that is unmatched by classic French bistros. This is the case of the steak tartare (R$58) and the Moules frites (R$79) that make up the starters. For mignon lovers, Bourbon Bistrot has also reserved a special page on the menu: the Biftecks ​​section – where the customer has the option of choosing the sauce and side dish they want to accompany the meat.

High quality cocktails combined with premium drinks. This was the proposal from Jigger Wines & Spirit in eight establishments in the city: Ile de France, DUQ Gastronomia, Adega San Vicente, Tesoros de Cuba Cigararia, Ginger Bar, Ernesto Ristorante, Aizu Restaurante and Punk Cuisine. In the partnership action, the houses were invited to include drinks on their menu prepared with drinks from the LVMH group (French holding company specializing in luxury products) imported by Jigger to Brazil. Thus, for the next year, drinks based on Hennessy cognac, Glenmorangie whiskey and Belvedere vodka can be enjoyed in homes. At DUQ Gastronomia the bet was to continue with famous cocktails, created in the 1920s/30s. The menu included Burnt Fuselage (R$65), Blood and Sand (R$58) and Gypsy Queen (R$62).
