Gastronomy class-show with chef Erick Jacquin in Manaus

80 guests will be able to improve their culinary knowledge

Manaus (AM) – The city of Manaus, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), in partnership with Senac Amazonas (Senac-AM), promotes next Tuesday, 9/5, at 10 am, a class-show of gastronomy with the presence of the renowned French chef Erick Jacquin.

In all, 80 guests – including restaurant owners, chefs, academics and gastronomy professors – will participate in the closed event, which will be held in the auditorium of the Centro de Educação Profissional (CEP) Pequeno Franco, unit of Senac-AM.

During the three hours of class-show, guests will be able to follow the preparation method and the techniques used in the assembly of famous dishes of French cuisine, such as the pâtisserie area (confectionery), Erick Jacquin’s specialty. To assist the French chef in the tasting menu, Senac-AM will provide three professionals, one of which is a teacher from the Restaurant-Escola, a student of the gastronomy course at the Senac-AM Faculty, and a representative of the Incubator restaurant management support project Senac-AM.

According to the manager of Senac-AM’s Specialized Center for Tourism and Hospitality, Jane Thiene, the transfer of CEP Pequeno Franco’s facilities to carry out the show-class reinforces the credibility of the Senac brand as a trainer of qualified labor, especially in the area services.

“Senac’s participation in this event is essential for strengthening the institution’s competence in the field of gastronomy. Having the presence of professors and students from the Senac-AM Gastronomy course, in an environment of living with one of the most renowned chefs in the world is a unique experience for both”, he comments.

For the vice-president of Manauscult Oreni Braga, “chef Jacquin’s arrival is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as he is one of the best chefs in the world and we also have renowned professionals both nationally and internationally. So, it will be a moment of a lot of interaction.

In addition to the opportunity for the chef to delve into Amazonian inputs, with the production of some local dishes. I reinforce the importance of the partnership with Senac-AM, which is already participating in the event for the second time”, thanks Oreni.

As for the director of Infrastructure and Tourism Qualification (DIQ) at Manauscult, João Araújo, the purpose of the class-show is aimed at professional improvement and encouraging networking among participants. “The intention is to promote the local gastronomy segment, providing opportunities for the participation of nationally and internationally renowned chefs with local actors in the segment so that they can interact and exchange learning”, he says.

Jacquin’s arrival in the capital of Amazonas is part of the circuit of actions foreseen in the programming of the #SouManaus Passo a Paço 2023 festival – a cultural event held since 2015.

Senac College
