Gasoline price rises by R$0.31 at gas stations, says ANP – 07/07/2023 – Market

The average price of regular gasoline rose 5.8% at Brazilian service stations this week, according to a survey released this Friday (7th) by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels).
According to the survey, the value of the liter reached R$ 5.67, equivalent to an increase of R$ 0.31 compared to last week. At the time, the average price was R$ 5.36.
The increase comes after the return of the full collection of federal taxes on fuel. The old PIS/Cofins and Cide taxation returned to apply on gasoline, ethanol and aviation kerosene on June 29th.
One day after the return of the full charge, Petrobras announced a reduction in gasoline of R$ 0.14 per liter in refineries. The cut went into effect on July 1. The measure was seen by the market as an attempt to mitigate the impact of tax returns.
