Gabigol pays homage to idols like Pelé, Tim Maia and Mano Bown on the walls of his house with an artist nominated by his ex, Rafaella

After buying the house where he lived in a luxury condominium in Barra for R$ 13 million, Gabigol is starting to leave the property with his face. Literally. The striker hired the artist Luan Ribeiróvisk to graffiti the most frequented area of ​​his mansion: the games/book review/physiotherapy room on the top floor.

The walls came to life through the skillful hands of Luan, who has Rafaella Santos, the player’s ex, as a client and a kind of fairy godmother. “I met her after she bought a piece of furniture graffitied by me, it was a limited edition, and I think that in transport she damaged the piece and she called me to restore it. Afterwards, I made a painting, some bags, and the walls of her houses”, he lists, who this week was working for the former couple, in Rio.

For Rafa, he made art at her new house, also in Barra, and at Gabigol’s, a series of graffiti that paid homage to idols of the Flamengo athlete. He wanted to have “distinguished guests” in his leisure area, in a kind of permanent gallery. Luan drew and graffitied the stars Pelé and Maradona, the pilots Ayrton Senna and Lewis Hamilton, the basketball players Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan, as well as the singers Tim Maia and Mano Brown.

On another wall, in addition to a reproduction of himself in the favela, Gabigol asked Luan to write the word Presdestinado highlighted, and around it motivational words, such as faith and overcoming. It is in this corner that he does his physiotherapy. “He sent me the references of what he wanted, I made the drawings on a tablet and sent them for approval. There were two days of work in São Paulo, but there was even time to go to Maracanã to watch Flamengo”, says Luan, enthusiastically.

For Gabigol’s ex-brother-in-law, Neymar, the São Paulo native, also signed some works. And so he makes his name in a very privileged network. The son of two plastic artists, the graffiti artist started out like anyone else: on the street, graffitiing walls. “I’ve already run away from the police a lot, I was about 12, 13 years old and I still didn’t have the science of what I wanted to build. But I’ve been working with art since I was 15. Now the dream is to graffiti the streets of the gringa, like London and New York” , plans the young man, at the height of his 28 years, and more than the merest of life with a can of spray in his hand.
