Manaus (AM) – To the sound of classics by great music singers such as Waldick Soriano and Nelson Gonçalves, the Open University Foundation for the Third Age (FUNATI) held, this Thursday (10/08), the FUnATI Seresteiros Botequim, at the foundation’s headquarters, located at Avenida Brasil, 11.430, Santo Antônio neighborhood, west zone of Manaus.
The production is a tribute to Father’s Day, celebrated on the second Sunday of August and with the participation of students from the FUnATI Guitar and Music Therapy workshops, in a morning full of serenade, bossa nova and samba songs. The tavern is an initiative of the Dean of Extension.
According to the rector of FUnAti, Dr. Euler Ribeiro, the project encourages healthy aging, promoting culture and art.
“It is important to carry out presentations like this one that bring our students closer to the arts, music and dance. Being in motion, with a healthy mind and body are part of quality aging, and that is what FUnATI has promoted since its foundation”,
said the manager.

“We are five sisters and four brothers, our father became a widower and when we saw that he was lonely, lonely, we got together and looked for a place for him to entertain himself. We brought him to FUnATI and he is in the Music Therapy workshop. Here he found himself, made new friends and is very happy”,
said the daughter, who is also a student at the foundation.
To the sound of “Uma Música Lenta”, student Francisca Queiroz, 62, told of the joy of being able to get in touch with art: “Through the Music Therapy workshop, I felt love reborn in me. It’s been a great experience to participate and it’s an honor to be part of the group of serenaders. Here we don’t diminish ourselves, I see that we are more than winners”,
