The French company Zephalto wants to offer a commercial balloon flight into space for the first time in 2024. The exclusive flights will have capacity for up to six travelers and will rise to an altitude of 25 kilometers, promising a unique view of Earth.
A trip with Céleste, as the module hanging under the balloon is called, costs 120,000 euros per person. According to Zephalto, everyone can participate, from the youngest to the oldest.
The tour will last six hours, half of which will be spent just on the ascent and descent of the aircraft. Travelers will be accommodated in a pressurized cabin, and meals will be served on site.
The main motivation for embarking must be the view. The curvature of the Earth and the starry sky can be seen through the large windows, according to the company. Details about the layout of the cabin have not yet been disclosed.
Zephalto will start flights in France, but plans to expand flights to Asia.
