Former gospel singer, Jotta A took another important step in his transition process. A year after coming out as a trans woman, she was finally able to change her name and gender on her identity card. Jotta A is now called Ella Viana de Holanda.
“Call me, love. Ella”, wrote the singer when sharing the news on social networks this Monday 13th and showing the new RG.
Jotta, 25 years old, became known when she won the freshman competition of “Programa Raul Gil” when she was a child. Subsequently, she signed with a gospel label and released a few albums in the segment. In 2014, the album “Geração Jesus”, from the previous year, was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
The artist publicly assumed being a trans woman in April 2022, two years after leaving her gospel career. “Starting over is not easy, but I’m happy to be experiencing this whole process. Happy to have so many people who support me and believe in me in this new stage”, she said at the time.
