The dollar retreated against the real this Tuesday morning (7), with investors adjusting positions after the recent jump in the currency and digesting the hard tone of the minutes of the last monetary policy meeting of the Central Bank.
Abroad, the focus of the market is on Fed Chair (Federal Reserve, US central bank), Jerome Powell, who will give a speech this afternoon.
At 9:07 am (Brasília time), the spot dollar retreated 0.42%, to R$ 5.1530 in the sale.
On B3, at 9:07 am (Brasília time), the first contract dollar futures contract rose 0.06%, to R$ 5.1715.
On the eve, the spot US currency closed up 0.57%, at R$5.1749 on sale, the highest closing level since January 23 (R$5.1993).
The Central Bank will hold an auction of up to 16,000 traditional exchange rate swap contracts in this trading session for the purpose of rolling over the maturity of March 1, 2023.
