A Sheet and FGV Ibre (Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation) are promoting this Tuesday (18), starting at 10 am, the online seminar “The energy transition and the impacts on the economy”.
The objective is to discuss how Brazil is preparing for this new phase of the search for energy alternatives to replace the widespread use of fossil fuels and pollutants.
If before the war between Russia and Ukraine the global energy transition had as its main motivation the fight against climate change, the geopolitical event also imposed itself as a new and strong motivator for the search for strategic security in the area.
In this context, the climate issue and geopolitics have led large companies and groups in the energy sector to turn part of their interest to Brazil.
The online seminar will feature Silvia Matos, coordinator of the FGV Ibre Macro Bulletin, Bráulio Borges, associate researcher at FGV Ibre, and Fernanda Delgado, corporate executive director of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas. The mediation of the event will be the special reporter of SheetFernando Canzian.
