Fleury suffered a cyber attack in “its information technology environment” this Sunday (7). According to a Material Fact published to its shareholders and the market in general, the company tries to minimize “possible impacts on its operations”.
“We are gradually normalizing our operations in a controlled manner, with the necessary safety tests being carried out, prioritizing the automatic integration of systems in hospitals in our environments, which has been taking place gradually. The Units continue to serve our customers with systems that have already been restored”, states the document.
Fleury states that it is investigating the attack, while taking the necessary measures to restore the full functioning of its operations. See below the full content of the Material Fact.
Due to the attack, patients may experience slowdowns in the exam scheduling and delivery system. Some procedures are only being booked by phone. There is still no information if data from doctors and patients were exposed.
Born as a clinical analysis laboratory 96 years ago, the company is now a healthcare organization with more than 13,000 employees and 3,200 physicians. Fleury currently serves eight states in the country (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and Maranhão) and the Federal District.
