Brazilians consume, on average, six liters of ice cream per year. Which puts us on the list of the ten countries that most appreciate the product. Last year alone, the industry producing this frozen wonder recorded revenue of R$13 billion, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Ice Cream Industries (Abis).
To celebrate Ice Cream Day this Saturday (September 23rd), Bom Gourmet created a list of the best places in Curitiba to taste this irresistible delicacy, according to the popular vote of the Bom Gourmet Award 2023especially on those days that end winter with typical summer heat.
O Guiolla Hamburgueria and Gelateria won the Ice Cream category with the popular vote. Bom Gourmet Award 2023. The specialty of the house, with two units in the capital, are artisanal Italian gelatos prepared and produced by owner Paola Dollenga.
“Our gelatos are made daily with fresh, selected products,” explains Paolla. “We have a milk-based option and fruit options, which are water-based, gluten-free and lactose-free, known as sorbett”, he informs. The menu also offers a milkshake made with Italian gelato, a good option to accompany one of the hamburgers on the menu.
There are more than 50 flavors at Giolla, from the most traditional to the most requested, such as Belgian pie, yogurt with Amarena and pistachio. “I always try to find new things for our customers, with flavors that captivate each person’s palate”, adds Paola. Ice cream prices vary between R$17 and R$29.90.
Before winning the Bom Gourmet Award in the Best Ice Cream category through popular choice, Giolla had already secured a trophy for Best Burger.

Borelli Gelato
Opened in 2021, Borelli has become a reference in artisanal gelato in Curitiba with artisanal cascões and gelatos. It is impossible to visit Praça Espanha and not smell the wonderful smell of the cones being produced, a mandatory stop for anyone who wants to taste the best gelato.
