Episode tells the stories of Felipe, who was barred from a hotel in Mexico, and Cynthia, whose honeymoon was postponed. Consumer Defense Institute teaches how to protect yourself in these cases. The crisis at travel company Hurb has made headlines and social media in recent weeks. Some hotels and inns suspended accommodation reservations made by the former Hotel Urbano after delays or lack of payments from the platform. Several consumers filed complaints against the company. And, this Friday, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) opened an administrative procedure against Hurb, giving the company 48 hours to prove financial conditions to comply with sales of travel packages to customers. In this week’s episode, we tell the stories of Felipe, who was on his honeymoon with his husband and was turned away from a hotel in Mexico for non-payment on the platform, and Cynthia, who had her honeymoon postponed without date. In addition to the stories, Idec’s director of institutional relations, Igor Britto, gives guidance to people who were affected in reservations, flights and accommodation.
