Fiesp says that Josué Gomes continues to preside over the entity – 01/19/2023 – Market

In the first manifestation on the subject, Fiesp (Federation of Industries of São Paulo) released a note this Thursday (19) in which it states that Josué Gomes is the president of the entity and is in the exercise of his functions, according to the statute

On Monday (16th), an extraordinary meeting held by 50 representatives of unions linked to the São Paulo industry voted to dismiss Josué, a proposal approved by 47 of the leaders present.

Since the crisis between the current president and union leaders dissatisfied with his management went beyond the limits of the building on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, Fiesp had not yet made any comment on the subject.

Whenever she was contacted, she would only say that she did not comment on the entity’s internal affairs.

Allies of the president of the industry federation consider that the assembly that voted for his dismissal has no legal value, as it was held after Josué Gomes and about 30 other union representatives had already left the Fiesp building.

By 2:30 pm, when the extraordinary meeting began, around 86 representatives from 80 unions were present.

At the end of the day, before the decision for his dismissal, those present voted whether or not to accept explanations given by Josué to a list of questions raised by the opposition. At this stage, 24 union representatives said that the answers were satisfactory, and 62 were against.

The opposition unions considered that they could continue the plenary based on two arguments: the assembly had not been properly closed and the existence of another call notice, published by them, for the same date.
