In 2023, the largest integrated arts festival in the North of the country, “#SouManaus Passo a Paço 2023”, will feature 12 national attractions and will have sustainability as its theme.
The announcement was made by the Municipal Foundation for Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), which has been working on consolidating and monetizing the festival with the aim of placing the capital of Amazonas on the tourism route for major musical events.
“Manaus is on the route of major events. We are among the best tourist destinations in the world in 2023, elected by The New York Times, with emphasis on cuisine. In addition, David Almeida’s management is moving forward with investments aimed at the tourist-cultural sector and we, here at Manauscult, are working to fulfill the mayor’s determination, which is to have an Sou Manaus equal to or better than last year’s. That’s why my technical team and I are here today, realigning the layout of the stages and accesses to the festival”, explained the director-president of Manauscult, Osvaldo Cardoso.
The event will feature two main stages within the port area, in addition to hubs spread across the historic center of Manaus, with musical, theater, dance, circus, visual arts and typical food attractions.
This year’s line-up of national artists, which will be announced by Mayor David Almeida, will feature rhythms from axé, samba, pagode, sertanejo, rock, forró, pop, among other musical genres. The event is free and will take place in September this year.
