Meta on Wednesday unveiled its open-source AI tool AudioCraft, which will help users create music and audio based on text requests.
The apparatus comes with three models, AudioGen, EnCodec and MusicGen, and works for music, sound, compression and generation, according to the company.
The MusicGen model is trained using company-owned and specifically licensed music, added the Facebook owner.
Artists and industry experts have raised concerns about copyright infringement, as machine learning software works by recognizing and replicating patterns in data pulled from the web.
This year, Alphabet introduced its own experimental AI tool for audio generation called MusicLM.
In June, the music platform Deezer introduced an apparatus that will allow it to identify songs that clone the voices of singers using technology.
“Our goal is to eliminate illegal and fraudulent content, increase transparency and develop a new compensation system whereby professional artists are rewarded for creating content,” said Deezer CEO Jeronimo Folgueira in a statement.
