Extended holidays should reheat the out-of-home food sector

February is the month of the first extended holiday of the year. Carnival is a date when, traditionally, consumption increases and establishments take the opportunity to profit. According to economist João Ricardo Tonin, for this to happen, entrepreneurs must have financial management and planning up to date.
In the reflection of the Bulletin FoodCo. this week Tonin evaluates the performance of the Brazilian economy in the first month of the year, which, according to him, has not changed much. “Consumption remains low, interest rates high. A scenario that reflects the world panorama”, he says.
For the economist, if Brazil continues with high employment levels, fuel prices without major variations and a stable political scenario, the second half should be more promising. Some banks already foresee a more promising economic recovery as of July.
And since the year has several extended holidays, the possibilities for improvement in the food away from home scenario should follow these forecasts. It is up to the entrepreneur to do his homework and be ready for these dates.
The FoodCo. with the complete and audio analysis of the economist João Ricardo Tonin is an exclusive weekly content for the platform’s subscribers. FoodCo. is the largest community of bar and restaurant owners in Brazil. There are more than 13,000 entrepreneurs in the sector gathered in a network of knowledge and networking, with access to essential content for those who undertake food outside the home.
