ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023 brings investors from the North region to Manaus

Manaus (AM) – With less than a month to go before the start of the largest technology and business fair in the North region, actors from public and private segments linked to the information and communication technology (ICT) and bioeconomy ecosystems ensured that ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023 has its spaces practically complete.

The strong search – intensified with the proximity of the event, which will take place from November 28th to 30th, at Studio 5 Centro de Convenções, in Manaus, demonstrates the relevance that the fair presents for everyone who participates, a fact proven by the results already obtained in the first edition, in 2022.

“Today we have more than 90% of the exhibition spaces filled by companies, startups and other public and private institutions that see ExpoAmazônia as the perfect place for doing business and networking. This is due to several factors, ranging from the projection of the local innovation ecosystem on the national and international scene to the growth of activities related to bioeconomy and biotechnology, with the Amazon being a brand that is constantly strengthening throughout the world”,

says Murilo Monteiro, executive director of the Associação do Polo Digital de Manaus (APDM), one of the institutions organizing the event.

The businesses promoted at ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC in 2022, which accumulated approximately R$2.5 million in direct negotiations and more than R$35 million in prospected businesses, highlight the fair as the right space for those who want to present their brand and interact with local players , nationals and internationals.

“ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC quickly established itself as a networking and business fair. The large participation of technology-based start-ups and companies already established in the market has been intensified by the feedback that the fair brings to its participants. And integration with public agents contributes to the advancement of dialogue between all players, which reinforces objectives of integrating and consolidating economic vectors not only in the region, but throughout the country”, comments Vânia Thaumaturgo, president of the Board of Directors of APDM.

Employment and income opportunities

For the Municipal Secretary of Labor, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Manaus (Semtepi), Radyr Júnior, the institution that represents the City of Manaus in the organization of ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023, “one of the success factors of the event will be the work together of the organizers to move the local economy, creating opportunities for the Bioeconomy and Information and Communication Technology sectors, which can generate employment and income through the dissemination and popularization of science, technology and innovation, making the sharing of this knowledge more accessible to everyone” .

In addition to the opportunities mentioned by the Semtepi owner, there is also the chance to learn more about topics relevant to innovation ecosystems, with the confirmation of renowned speakers in the “knowledge trails”, a space dedicated to bringing together prominent representatives in different areas to present success stories, discuss current topics with the public and exchange experiences with everyone who works on topics related to technology, bioeconomy and sustainability.

“ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC brings to the state the opportunity to bring together important agents in segments that can strongly contribute to the advancement of sustainable and complementary vectors. We need to support initiatives that positively transform the socioeconomic reality of Amazonas and ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC has this bias, in addition to being a showcase of business and services from the region for Brazil and the world”, says Jeibi Medeiros, executive secretary of the Secretariat of State of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), representative of the Government of Amazonas in the organization.

Segment in evidence

Another organizer of ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023, the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon (Idesam) noted that the search for actors linked to the bioeconomy, including speakers and exhibitors, grew exponentially for this second edition of the event compared to the first fair held in the year past.

“The bioeconomy, the green economy, sustainability, these are topics that are very prominent around the world. But when we talk about the Amazon, the emphasis is even greater”,

says Carlos Koury, director of innovation in bioeconomy at the institution and coordinator of the Bioeconomy Priority Program (PPBio).

“Talking about bioeconomy in the middle of the largest socio-biodiverse forest on the planet has an even greater meaning, as we are aware of how much we need to learn about what the forest has to offer us and the size of the challenge that lies ahead to consolidate the bioeconomy in the region. ”, he adds.

ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023 is organized by the Manaus Digital Pole Association (APDM), Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon (Idesam), Government of Amazonas – through the Secretariat of Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti-AM ) -, Manaus City Hall – through the Municipal Secretariat of Labor, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Semtepi) and the Amazon Biobusiness Center (CBA).

In addition to discussing, integrating, consolidating and leveraging the region’s Bioeconomy and Information and Communication Technology hubs as two viable and sustainable economic vectors for the maintenance of the Amazon forest and for the socioeconomic development of the people of the Amazon, the fair aims to strengthen the Bio&TIC ecosystems and constantly integrate them with actors from national and international innovation ecosystems.
