Diversity, equity and inclusion are the three pillars that define the BioMulher program, by Biotrop, a leader in natural and organic solutions for agriculture. The initiative pays homage to the strength of the female workforce with a focus on career development, well-being and health. With this focus, the program provides employees with lectures or training by specialists and special guests.

Biotrop has 300 women on its staff, corresponding to 42% of the team. They are present at all hierarchical levels and areas. “With BioMulher, our commitment is twofold: to provide both professional development and ascension to the highest positions at Biotrop”, explains Maina Pardini, Director of People & Management at the company and responsible for the BioMulher project.

According to a survey by the Center for Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea/USP), in 2022, about 6 million women work in various sectors of agribusiness, representing about 1/3 of the workforce in the field.

“Structural transformations of a cultural and social nature greatly influence women’s performance in the labor market in rural areas. We have become predominant in areas where the majority were male. Today, we work side by side, facing the same challenges and overcoming trust – because we deserve it. Another point to highlight is the participation of mothers in this market and the pride we take in seeing them dealing with so many responsibilities”,

reinforces Maina Pardini.

The central theme of the last BioMulher meeting was “Mothers of all stages”. Sharing reports, the event had lectures by six collaborators who are mothers in different stages of life, whether returning from maternity leave, with children, adolescents, young people, adults and grandchildren. Some topics addressed in the reports include “Motherhood’s challenge in career management”, “The role of the family in educating grandchildren”, and “Returning from maternity leave and outside work”, among others.

“The participation of women in the company is essential for the development of our business. We believe that diversity is what makes our organization grow strong and in a structured way. This is what we want with BioMulher: to provide the right balance between career and personal life, respecting women and giving them the same opportunities to show their skills”,
