Esfera Energia seeks new partners in the Amazon with an eye on the expansion of the free market

Around 2,700 Amazonian customers may leave the Captive Market this year and join the Free Energy Market in 2024

Manaus (AM) – Esfera Energia, a company that operates in the management and commercialization of energy in the Free Market, has opportunities open for new commercial partners in Amazonas, that will make a decisive contribution to the transition of State companies to an expanding Free Energy Market. This is due to Ordinance No. 50 of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), of September 2022, which allowed the migration of any energy consumer unit connected to medium or high voltage to the free market starting next year.

Before the Law, a minimum contracted demand of 500 kW was required for this transition. With the opening, approximately 2,700 Amazonian customers will be able to leave the Captive Market and join the Free Energy Market, according to data from the Market Information Monitoring System for Economic Regulation (SAMP). In Brazil, more than 100,000 energy consuming units will be able to migrate to this free environment in 2024.

“Our partners will be key players in this market opening movement, counting on our technical-commercial support in negotiations with companies in the region and receiving commissions that vary according to the volume of closed contracts”,

After analyzing and selecting the profiles, the chosen partner companies will undergo an online training of a maximum of three weeks, depending on their level of knowledge of the energy market. With the start of work, the opportunities generated by the partners will be evaluated to check their adherence to the program’s objectives.

How does the partnership program work?

After completing the technical training, the partner is able to sell Esfera’s energy management and commercialization solutions in the Amazon region. The partner has the continuous support of a team of up to 25 specialists from Esfera, who carry out technical consultations, produce feasibility studies, participate in meetings with potential clients and assist in the formulation of proposals. If the deal is closed, Esfera Energia takes over contract management and after-sales services with the customer.

The partner, in turn, receives a commission for each contract closed. The more business generated, the higher the commission, whose percentage to be paid progressively increases throughout the five categories that make up the partnership program: bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond. The premium paid doubles from the first to the last category. “It is important to note that the partner has complete autonomy to manage their schedules and agenda, as their remuneration varies according to the results they obtain.”, adds Morais.

Today, Esfera Energia has 40 partners operating throughout the country and the goal is to increase this number by the end of the year. “We believe in our partner channels to grow regionally, organically and sustainably”, informs the director.

According to Morais, the current moment is unique in the energy sector and expands the opportunities for gains for energy traders, partners and consumers. Due to the favorable weather conditions and the good supply of energy, the prices negotiated on the Free Market are low, at the regulatory level, and therefore, very inviting to migration. “Companies will be able to substantially reduce their costs by joining the Free Market, contracting cheap and renewable energy in the long term and protected from price fluctuations”, he points out.

According to the director, migrations should focus on the retail modality, whose operation is simpler, less bureaucratic and with less risk to companies that are entering the free market next year.
