Management and energy efficiency actions will be adopted
With sustainability and the enhancement of renewable energy resources as its axes, the Energias da Amazônia Program was created by means of a decree published this Thursday (17th) in the Official Gazette. One of the main objectives is to integrate isolated systems into the National Interconnected System (SIN).
Through auctions and structural policies aligned with the program’s objectives, actions that propose the interconnection of isolated systems to the SIN will benefit; installation of structure for generation and storage of energy, through renewable sources; and energy management and efficiency measures.
Actions are also planned for training and qualifying the local population on installation, operation and maintenance of equipment for the generation of renewable sources and storage of electric energy.
goals and studies
The coordination of the program is the responsibility of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), which should propose goals based on studies by the Energy Research Company (EPE), the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), the National Electric System Operator ( ONS) and Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE). Public consultation will also be carried out to support the goals that will be established by the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE).
The targets should provide for the resources needed for the results and the amount of greenhouse gas emissions for 2030.
The results of the Energias da Amazônia Program will be evaluated every year by the MME and will have as a parameter the consumption of fossil fuel, in 2022, for the generation of electric energy in the isolated systems.
