The president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, said this Friday (11/8) that the monetary authority is studying authorizing the offer of credit to consumers via Pix. In practice, according to him, users will no longer need the cards.
“You will combine Pix and other products, remembering that you will be able to start being able to make credit on Pix, so, at some point in the future, you will not need a credit card, you will be able to do everything on Pix”, he says, in event promoted by the Commercial Association of Paraná, this Friday afternoon.
According to Campos, BC plans to create this new modality as an “alternative” for consumers to access credit. The institution has also been testing other features, such as making scheduled payments and payments with automatic recurrence, in addition to the possibility of internationalizing the Pix.
The BC president also spoke of the so-called “financial aggregator”, an application that will centralize banking products and services. “In the financial aggregator, you will no longer need to have an app (application) for each bank, you can have just one, centralize all products with portability and competitiveness in real time”, he says.
