Barroso also said on Sunday that “the specific attack that took place at 10:41 a.m. did not produce any results simply because it was repelled in time and the system could not be entered”. At the time, according to the TSE, the attacks did not affect the vote because the ballot boxes are not connected to the internet. Therefore, the equipment is not vulnerable to attacks. In November of the same year, a person was arrested in Portugal, suspected of participating in the attacks. The prisoner is a Portuguese citizen who was 19 years old in the year of arrest.
