Easter egg brand maintains production cut to avoid costs – 05/03/2023 – Panel SA

This year, Village maintained its decision not to produce any more Easter eggs to be sold at retail. The suspension in the manufacture of traditional chocolate products was announced in 2022, when, pressured by the high cost of inputs and packaging, the company withdrew from the Easter campaign.
According to Sócrates Luiz, from the commercial area of the Village, the decision in 2023 was not to risk negotiating with retailers again. Some eggs will still be produced, but sales will be restricted to the units of the factory store, the Cepam bakery, which will also have the brand’s Easter cakes.
The Abicab (Brazilian Association of the Chocolate, Peanut and Candy Industry) says that the volume of launches this year is 9% higher than that registered last year.
