The weekend in Rio de Janeiro is full of attractions from samba and rap shows to children’s activities. See below for a list to have a lot of fun in the coming days.

From reggae to rap in Ipanema

The Claro Verão project also promotes free concerts on the weekend. Today it’s the turn of the reggae band Onze20. Tomorrow, the sound is with Catha. And on Sunday, the attraction is Gabriel O Pensador (photo). The presentations always take place at 7 pm, at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim (Av. Vieira Souto 176, Ipanema). After the show, there’s a DJ until 10 pm. Entrance is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the house is subject to capacity. Free.

Dudu Nobre for free in Baixada

The Sesc Verão project hosts a series of free concerts. Tomorrow there’s Fernanda Abreu, at 8:30 pm, at Praça da Matriz, in São João de Meriti. On Sunday, it’s Dudu Nobre’s (photo) turn to lead the samba in the same place, at 9 pm. In Niterói, at Praça do Rádio Amador, also for the same event, there is Frejat on Sunday, at 9 pm, and Geraldo Azevedo on Saturday, at 9 pm. The event is free ranking.

Stage for serious matters in the Center

The play “Entrecruzos” has free sessions at the Municipal Theater (Praça Floriano s/nº, Centro) today and tomorrow, always at 6 pm. Tickets must be picked up at theatromunicipalrj.eleventickets.com. The plot written by actresses Lau Mollica and Carolina Bezerra departs from a dystopia to address sensitive issues such as violence against women, diversity and interracial relationships. The indicative rating is 14 years old.

Classic for real kids

The musical piece “Pinóquio — A dream of a circus” will have a single presentation this Saturday, at 3 pm, at Sala Nelson Pereira dos Santos (Av. Visconde do Rio Branco 880, São Domingos, Niterói). On stage, Cia. A’dovalle presents new songs and characters such as the Blue Fairy, the Talking Cricket and Geppetto, as well as Pinocchio, who interact with the audience. International hits in Barra da Tijuca

The American pop, techno and new wave band Information Society, with hits like “Think” and “What’s on your mind”, plays today at 9 pm on the stage at Espaço Hall (Av. Ayrton Senna 5.850, Barra). Tickets for the party cost from R$ 80 (half) on the website uhuu.com. 18 years.

It’s already carnival in Pontal

Tomorrow and Sunday, there is a carnival at the Museu do Pontal (Av. Celia Ribeiro da Silva Mendes 3300, Barra), with workshops and free attractions from 10am to 7pm. At 5:30 pm on Saturday, there’s Mocidade drumming. At 11:30 am on Sunday, the show is by Banda do Pontal. The place also receives the Local Board, with its producers. Free.

Documentaries and exhibition in Flamengo

Arte Sesc (Rua Marquês de Abrantes 99, Flamengo) completes one year tomorrow with free activities from 2 pm to 7 pm. Fun for the kids in Penha

Arena Dicró (Parque Ary Barroso, Penha) has its last day of special free holiday programming for children today. From 2 pm to 5 pm, there is a series of games, board games, recreational activities and storytelling. Sorting is free.
