Dog travels in 1st class and with its own seat to Paris – 02/20/2023 – Market

Turkish Airlines recently allowed a pet dog to fly with its owner in Business Class on an 11-hour, 40-minute flight from Hong Kong to Paris via Istanbul. The animal, a mini dachshund named Fifi, has 16,000 followers on Instagram and has been seen traveling with his owner in the comfort of his own seat, with blankets and pillows.
Although many people were surprised by the news, it appears that Turkish Airlines has a much more lenient approach towards dogs in the cabin than other airlines. This policy includes the provision of lounge for dogs in Istanbul and pet restrooms at the airport.
However, Fifi’s owner cited some downsides along with the video of the trip, saying there was an unexpected check-in fee and a lack of dog lounges in Hong Kong.
More and less restrictive policies regarding the transport of animals have raised some controversial issues, as many believe that dogs are treated like human beings. Despite many different points of view and a long debate, airlines have the safety and welfare of animals as a priority.
