Spotify was off the air this Wednesday morning (19). Downdetector, a website for monitoring online services, records a spike in complaints around 9 am reporting problems with the streaming service. The company confirmed the drop, but said the situation appears to be improving.

Apple Music

Apple Music is Apple’s music streaming service. The app integrates with the Siri virtual assistant and other company devices. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos and uses an audio file compression method called Lossless, which preserves sound quality.

Recently, the application received two new features. Apple Music Sing, a karaoke mode that uses artificial intelligence to lower the volume of vocals, and an exclusive application for classical music, free for those who already subscribe to the service.

Prices start at BRL 21.90 per month for individual access and BRL 34.90 for the family subscription, which can accommodate up to five people. There is also a university subscription, for R$ 11.90 per month. Unlike Spotify, Apple Music does not have a free version with ads.

Deezer gives you access to over 90 million songs. Like Spotify, it has a free plan with ads. In addition, TIM, Globoplay, Market Livre or Itaú customers have a discount or free access. The application allows the playback of podcasts and has the feature SongCatcher, an integrated song identifier.

Prices start at BRL 22.90 per month for individual access and BRL 39.90 for group access of up to six people. The subscription for students costs R$ 10.90.

Tidal

Tidal stands out for offering high quality sound transmission (HiFi). There are two main plans, HiFi, for BRL 16.90 per month, and HiFi Plus, for BRL 33.80. The difference is that the second offers features for audio enthusiasts, such as Master Quality Authenticated (MQA), Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio. There are also plans for families, with up to five people, and a 50% discount for students.

Amazon Music

Amazon’s music streaming service has the advantage of being included, with some restrictions, in the retailer’s Prime subscription. The Unlimited plan, with features similar to those of competitors, costs from BRL 16.90 per month. There is no student discount.

YouTubeMusic

YouTube Music is Google’s music streaming service. It is possible to subscribe individually from BRL 16.90 per month, but the most advantageous option is the subscription with YouTube Premium, which in addition to giving access to Music, plays videos on the platform without ads, among other features. The premium costs from BRL 20.90 per month. There are also family plans and student discounts.
